Adaptive Translation, a premium Alexa Translations AI feature, improves translation accuracy by learning from user edits in the Document Editor. It dynamically updates the engine to match your terminology, reducing editing time and enhancing consistency. Currently available for EN <-> FR.

How It Works

1. Go to Projects and click on Adaptive Engines.


2. Select your desired Adaptive Engine.
Under actions click on ... and then click Open.


3. Upload a document to translate it.


4. Select your document. Under actions click on ... and select Edit.


5. Review & Edit.
Use the Document Editor to refine translations. Mark segments for training by clicking the Learn icon.



Real-Time Adaptation:
After every 100 valid edits, the engine retrains itself to incorporate the changes, improving future translations.

Usage Recommendations:
Use narrow domains for optimal performance. For example, separate Adaptive Engines can be created for distinct areas, such as banking contracts and securities.


Maintain a consistent, high-quality editing process to accelerate learning and ensure accuracy.

How long does retraining take?
Retraining is initiated automatically after 100 valid edits and completed in under 10 minutes.

Can I use Adaptive Translation for multiple domains?
Yes, you can request multiple Adaptive Engines tailored to specific domains for better accuracy and contextual relevance.

What happens if edits are of poor quality?
Filters are applied to exclude low-quality edits from contributing to the engine’s learning process.

Can I use Adaptive Translation for languages other than EN<->FR?
Not at this time, but additional language support is planned for future releases.

Is an adaptive project already included in my subscription?
